Is it still profitable to install a gas system in the car?

Rapidly rising prices of gasoline and diesel fuel caused that service points assembling LPG installations in cars are full of work again. Although it has recently been said that gas is getting more expensive, and fitting an LPG installation is not profitable, it turns out that it still allows you to save quite a lot on an annual basis, and even more on a few years basis. What to consider when making a decision?

Mileage and usage time of the car

If we buy a car that we plan to use for the next few years, and it is still in motion, installing gas system in the car is a hundred percent good choice. Modern sequential installations are basically trouble-free and reliable, especially when compared to the first LPG installations from two decades ago. The installation consisting of solenoid valves, cylinder, reducer, injector rail, gas pressure sensor and control system is completely safe for the car and its driver. Modern gas installations are a bit more expensive, but definitely worth the price. The cheapest installations can quickly cause malfunctions, which will result in poor operation of the car, even on gasoline. So, if we decide to install LPG, it is not worth saving on it – savings will appear later while driving  on gas without any problems. We must remember that every vehicle running on LPG requires proper operation and regular service of both the engine and the fuel system. The LPG installation itself also requires servicing and maintenance.

How to check if the gas installation pays off?

It is very easy. Let’s check how many litres of fuel our car burns for 100 km. Let’s multiply the number of litres of fuel by the price per one litre. Then we will see how much it costs us to travel 100 km. Next, let’s check how much it would cost us to travel the same distance on gas. When we subtract the gas result from the fuel result, we’ll see how much we could save for every 100 kilometers. In turn, when we divide the price of LPG assembly by our savings, we will find out after driving how many kilometers the assembly pays off. The next kilometers will create savings that we can keep in our pockets.

It should be remembered that the gas installation requires a minimum dose of gasoline for a proper functioning (on a cold engine, after starting the car).
